Grey Jones Jr. Founds Coaching Systems
Grey Jones Jr. founds Coaching Systems on a simple belief: driver training only works if it changes how someone actually drives. That idea becomes the Coaching Method, a participation-based approach built around real decisions instead of lectures.
1998
A Focus On Vehicle Specific Courses
Coaching Systems launches Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator and begins building a full catalog around the same principle: each course is designed for a specific vehicle, because an ambulance, a fire apparatus, a van, and a lift truck all carry different risks. Over the next two decades that catalog grows to cover emergency response, commercial fleets, and industrial operators, and Coaching Systems becomes the training partner for some of the largest ambulance and fire fleets in the country.
2024
CEVO® 5 Ambulance Is Released
Twenty-five years of field experience and more than 10 million trained operators go into the most comprehensive update in the program's history, with new modules, streaming delivery, and full LMS integration. CEVO is now the standard Emergency Vehicle Operator Course used across the industry.
2025
American Safety Institute Acquires Coaching Systems
In October, ASI acquires Coaching Systems, bringing together two organizations with decades of experience in transportation safety. Together they share one mission: to be the best transportation training and compliance partner in the country.

Together, we are positioned to deliver the most comprehensive transportation training and compliance solution in the market and make a greater impact on driver safety than either organization could achieve alone.
